Kitchen Cupboard Complexion

Whatever time of the year, our skin is subject to stresses and strains.  Cold in the winter, heat and sun in the summer. cosmetics, pollution, bad diet – all of these contribute to skin that can look less than lovely.

Here are some super healthy home facial to treat yourself.  Most of the natural ingredients are probably in your kitchen cupboard or can be bought in supermarkets or health food store. It goes without saying that you should use organic, locally sourced products wherever possible.

Slice a cucumber very thinly, lay back and place the rounds all over your face.  Leave on for ten minutes or so, then remove and rinse with lukewarm water.

Egg White Whip

Simply take the whites of two eggs and whisk them to a thick foam.  Add a couple of teaspoons of plain yogurt (not flavored or sweetened), smooth gently on the skin, leave on for ten to fifteen minutes before washing it off.

Delicious Mocha Dry Skin Mask

This mask is almost good enough to eat.  Take four to five spoons of organic cocoa powder, the same quantity of finely ground coffee beans,  add olive or almond oil to create a paste, smooth it on, leave it for ten to fifteen minutes, then rinse.

This a great pick me up for clean and sparkling skin.  Mash up a very ripe banana with a couple of teaspoon of oatmeal and a lemon squeeze. Spread across face, leave for ten to fifteen minutes, then wash with lukewarm water.

Strawberry Fair

Mash up a quarter cupful of strawberries with the same amount of plain yogurt.

Spread all over face, revel on the scent and soothing feel then wash it off.

Every skin texture is different and adapts to different kinds of ingredients.  If allergic to any above mentioned additives then this is not for you.
